Fun is the value of play – Just for the fun of it – Langmobile understands this!

A child needs to be encouraged to harness their imagination and feel they can do or be anything.

The days of allowing a child to run around outside with only his imagination for company may not be practical in today’s society, but more research is pointing to the inherent value of free play to a child’s development. While many of us continue to fill our children’s time with structured activities and lessons, a slower parenting movement is beginning to take shape with a push for more balance.

According to a study published by the Canadian Council on Learning,  play nourishes every aspect of a child’s development and forms the foundation of intellectual, social, physical and emotional skills, all of which contribute to success in school and life.

“It is recommended that children have between 30 and 60 minutes a day of unstructured free play,” explains Tracy Lavin, a psychologist and principal researcher with the council, who suggests that parents choose a camp that is able to balance unstructured free time with organized activities and programming.

Langmobile takes this seriously and we encourage children to simply be children and play – just for the fun of it. We recognize that all year long children are required to perform at school and with less and less time allowed for physical education and recess children don’t get the simple old fashion play time they need. In  our summer camp program we have structured a day in the life of camp to reflect our belief that children need free play…and we make sure they have it!

It is all about balance and in any of programs we strive for that balance between learning and play.

What is the right age to learn another language?

It our opinion at Langmobile we think it is NEVER too young to start exposing your children to a foreign language.  We have services for children that are 6 months old in daycares and preschools. Our English immersion summer camp invites children to participate 4-14 years old.  If you are unable to participate in our services you can still enjoy the Langmobile method at home by downloading Kids Learning Languages on I tunes it is free for a limited time!
