Yoga is beneficial for adults as much as it is for kids.

Yoga has an all rounded effect, promoting physical, emotional and mental health!

In terms of physical health, practicing yoga can help children develop strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. It can also improve their posture and overall physical abilities. Not only is yoga a great way to improve one’s physical abilities and capability, but is also a great alternative when injured. It is a low impact activity- meaning it is designed to put little or no harmful stress on the body, and is an exercise that can be done everyday, anywhere and anytime!

For emotional regulation, yoga can help children learn how to manage their emotions and reduce stress and anxiety through breathing exercises and practicing being present. These frequent practices can also help them develop a sense of calmness and relaxation. By developing better skills for emotional regulation, it can also lead to better mental health.

Yoga can improve children’s focus, concentration, and memory which can also boost their self-esteem and confidence.

Finally, regularly practicing will teach children mindfulness, the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment. This can help children become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, thereby promoting greater self-awareness physically and emotionally.

Yoga is a fun and engaging way for children to learn and connect with their bodies, while also being social. Most classes are group based, which can help children develop social skills such as communication, cooperation, and empathy. The perfect skills to develop to become balanced and self aware members of society!
