Mother’s Day in Montreal

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, so let’s take a moment to thank mom for all she does! Here, at Langmobile, we have a few ideas for how to make this Mother’s Day a special day. To start, surprise mom with breakfast in bed! Treat her to a yogurt parfait or some fresh fruit skewers and oat muffins. You can make her morning tea or coffee extra special by personalizing her mug with a handwritten message or original drawing. On your way out, pack a picnic lunch or grab some sweet treats from a local bakery or pastry shop. Then, head to one of Montreal’s parks and gardens, such as Mont-Saint-Bruno National Park, Mount Royal ParkSt. Joseph’s OratoryParc Jean-Drapeau), Parc la Fontaine, or the Westmount Greenhouse. Consider taking a stroll through the Montreal Botanical Garden – if you’re lucky, you might catch their cherry blossoms in bloom! For a non-traditional Mother’s day stroll, head down to the Old Port to experience the Virtual Reality Gardens, a free installation at the Phi Centre. For ages 13+. Or catch Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia, a waking dream of Mexico. If it’s a sunny day, bring your bikes and try out one of these cycling paths. Does mom love theatre and classical music? Check out Beethoven Lives Upstairs at the D.B. Clarke Theatre. Recommended for ages 6 and up. To end the day, prepare a homemade dinner with fresh produce, meats, and cheeses from one of Montreal’s public markets, such as Atwater Market  or Jean-Talon Market. While you’re there, pick up a pretty bouquet, potted plant, or hanging basket! If you’d rather take mom out for dinner, consider one of these family-friendly restaurants. Is mom vegetarian or vegan? Try Aux Vivres Remember, today is all about showing mom how much you love and appreciate her. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing, so long as you’re doing it together and having fun To all the amazing moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day from the Langmobile team! Enjoy!
